Hi I’m Michél Legendre!

I’m here to bring my experience over the past decade in non-profit organizations to strategize, dig deep on issues of equity, and help deliver transformative impact.

I believe deeply that everything we do is most effective when it’s based on a circular process and not a linear one.

As a long-time organizer, I’ve experienced and observed firsthand how harmful linear processes can be. These models often lead to extractive environments, recycled and tired tactics, and burnout among staff and community members. On the other hand, building organizational structures around circularity can help us:

  • Better reincorporate the lessons we’ve learned;

  • Consider how we’ve made use of our resources;

  • Find opportunities to slow down and reflect on our progress;

  • Check-in on our staff and the community.

In short, circularity allows us to learn from the hard work we’ve deployed months prior and creates space for people to understand the impact they’ve made, both good and bad. Most importantly, circularity gives us the opportunity to improve our processes and can organically lead to clearer intentions.

In addition to the hard work of being a changemaker, I revel in finding joy within the struggle. I could talk endlessly about the music I love, the food I’m excited to make and share with my loved ones, and all the brilliant lessons I’ve learned from friends all across the movement for justice and in my life.

I currently live in Brooklyn, New York, and although I’ve been appreciating the ability to get around easily on my electric bike, I’m a recent convert for the brilliance of the NYC ferry system. I’m also a proud immigrant from Trinidad and Tobago.

I’m looking forward to learning more about you!
